Is there a way to fix my car so
1. The headlights go on and off automatically when the engine is turned on/off?
2. Some interior lights come on when I open the door- I HATE getting into a dark car!

Can the Toyota service people do this?

What car do you have?

I know the tC has headlights that will turn off when the engine shuts off. I'd imagine the 08s do that too.

There might be some way to re-ground the headlights to the ignition.

As far as the dome light, make sure the switch is set to 'Door'. That should make the interior light turn on when the door opens.

I have an 07 xb - I frequently leave the lights on because in all my previous cars the lights went out when I took key out- they also went on automatically - I forget to turn them on and wonder why other cars are flashing lights at me. I'm going to check the dome lights but I think you have a manual on or off. I'm due for my first oil change so I'll ask Toyota.

I'd imagine it's an 08 xB (there was never a 2007 model year)

2006 marked the end of the original body style and the new body style was released for the 2008 model year.

See what the Toyota techs say. The dome light should just be a matter of changing the switch to "Door".
