Well, we're beginning day 2 of the turbo install... hit a snag last night, but we think we have the problem solved.

The oil feed coupler wouldn't thread into the block... hopefully, the one we got at Home Depot will work.

Pics and a write up to come when it's finished (hopefully).

if youre talking about that blue oil feed part that goes into the block and connects to the sensor, be careful with that. what I had to do was swithc it around and fit the smaller end into the block and everything hooked up fine. i didn't tighten it all the way the first time, had a very very small oil leak come out of it and i went to tighten it and without that much force it just split right along the top. so I had to go to home depot and get one, so hopefully the one you got does the job like ya said.

Okay, everythings in. Everything's working.

That little oil feed thing sucks... we bought 8 different pieces that should've fit... they didn't.

I finally went brute force on its ass. The oil feed is in. No leaks.

There is a very slow leak at the oil pressure plate, we've determined it's because the adapter sucks, so we'll get a new one on there.

Otherwise, the car is running fine, not pushing boost yet, since the oilpan seal needs a day to cure. We still have to fiddle with the BOV since the turbine flutters above 5500RPM. But no codes or oil warnings!

Pics tomorrow.

I'd like to add that despite the fact that we're all really tired, the install weekend was a lot of fun.

That's sweet! I'd love to see a step-by-step pictorial, with write-up, of course! :D

I could put it in the FAQ's for future Turbo-nuts!

Day 1:
Removed intake, exhaust header. The turbo assembly was already put together (manifold, blower, wastegate, downpipe) When we attempted to drop it in, it seemed like we were hitting everything... struggled with it for a little while, then someone pretty much sneezed on it and it dropped in place.

Drained oil, struggled with oil feed line. Went shopping for new oil feed tap... unsuccessful. Realized that a party we were hosting was starting in 30 minutes... stopped work, drove home, drank.

Day 2:
Removed stock oilpan, new oilpan installed. Realized that the oil return hose was 1/4" too short. Heated hose and loosened the connector. Got it to fit. Began wiring gauges. Started installing IC piping and intake. Piping clearance on the kit's a bit tight, but nothing rubs once installed. Soldered in the 440cc injectors. Replaced fuel rail.

Since we did not have the appropriate tools to cut the crashbar, we used metal straps to support the IC to the radiator support and lower frame. Doesn't look that great, but it's solid. We're having an exhaust shop trim the bar so we can fix that.

Dremeled the bumper to allow the IC piping to poke through.

One last pass to ensure everything was secure (T-Clamps, wire harnesses, etc)
In goes the oil.

Reconnect battery.

The car turned over the first time, and the idle is shockingly calm. Treadstone doesn't recommend engine management, which I'm shocked by.

Did a few revs. Adjusted BOV to eliminate turbo flutter (it still flutters a bit @ 6k)

One small oil leak from the oilpressure sender adapter... most likely since it's crappy. That'll get replaced.

So that's that!

I might as well update. So the IC piping has been recut to fit tighter. Shockingly, we are able to put an uncut stock bumper back on the car, so yea, it's officially a sleeper now. :D

The big older Pontiac sped along eating up mile upon mile of highway. The driver slouched

indolently behind the wheel, his left elbow resting comfortably on the car window fingers

steadying the wheel but not gripping it, tapping in time to the classic rock on the radio.

His right hand gripped the wheel at almost the top, but even that grip was relaxed, almost

lazy. His rich hazel eyes were hidden behind aviator style sunglasses. He had a strong chin

with a neatly trimmed goatee which matched his equally neatly trimmed short black hair.

The highway he was on stretched the length of the country, The Trans-Canada Highway, and he

was driving west from wow power leveling (http://www.u4game.com) the prairies

towards the West Coast. The Rocky Mountains stretched before him, running north to south,

like an impenetrable barrier. But Evan Kirby knew better; the highway found its winding way

through mountain passes across the continental divide over several ranges ending in the

Pacific Coastal Range and the sea. There by the sea, on the great Fraser River Delta which

two million or more souls called Home, lay Vancouver: a port city, a crossroads of the

world. But the draw there for Evan was the rich and bountiful entertainment industry. Evan

Kirby was a guitar player. He had played with an assortment of bands in prairie towns and

cities but, drawn to classic rock and the new innovative sounds coming out of some of the

west coast studios, had decided to try his luck in Vancouver. After all, he had reasoned,

the weather's warmer there too.

The car was a cluttered mess and a Marshall amplifier took up more than half of the back

seat. Some fast food bags and beverage cups littered the floor. On the seat beside him was

a Calgary newspaper, a copy of Guitarplayer Magazine and a couple of CD's. As the car

cruised further into the mountains the Calgary radio station he had been listening to

started to crackle and break up. Evan steadied the wheel with a couple of fingers only and

loaded a CD into the player. The car was filled with the sound of Led Zepplin as he cruised

through the Banff National Park Gates.

Just west of the Banff townsite there were a couple of hitchhikers along the road. The

first two were a grubby looking pair of men which Evan barely looked at. But his eyes were

drawn to the slim girlish figure standing alone clutching a small pack to her side almost

as though it were a teddy bear. The wind was blowing her long straight blonde hair wildly

from beneath her hat, a crocheted close-fitting soft turquoise cap. She wore a pair of

flared, faded and somewhat tattered blue jeans and a shirt that was a tight fitting long

sleeved soft knit fabric in a darker turquoise than her hat with a dragon boldly painted

across the front. Evan whistled under his breath as he pulled over to pick her up. 'Geez,

she's just a kid.' he thought, 'They just get younger.'
