I'm looking at a 2006 tC with ~17k miles on it. The owner says that he has treated and maintained it like his baby, so I thought I'd ask the forum if there are any issues with the 06 I need to know about?

Also, is there a fee to transfer the warranty from Scion (Toyota)?

Anybody have an experience with Lo-Jack? Apparently this car has this as well.

Thanks in advance,
Ivan

As long as you don't beat on em too badly, the Toyota 4 cylinder engines are pretty much rock solid.

Perhaps the biggest issue with all of the tCs is a rattling due to the sunroof... not much can be done to resolve that, except using the volume knob.

The warranty should transfer over with no work on your part. Lo Jack is nice from what I hear...

How much is this guy asking?

Asking 14k, TRD Lowering Springs & Shocks, TRD Exhaust, TRD Filter, Spoiler.

Seems like a good deal to me. I drive an Avalanche and the gas is killing me, a new Honda Civic is a little more than 19k, so I'm leaning towards the tC.

Is the roof rattle an issue of seals? Or do fasteners come loose?

Thanks for the feedback.
Ivan

It's more of an irritation than anything else... and it doesn't seem to affect everyone. I think it's just glass rubbing on seals... nothing you can really do about it.

That's a good price. Especially with the shocks/struts in there. Did you get a CarFax report? Know why he's selling?

CarFax came back clean. He said that he wants a Convertible, not that he doesn't like the car anymore.

He drives to the train station and commutes to NYC every day, so the car mostly sees the parking lot.

There aren't any leaking issues with the sunroof are there?

Nope... they're generally fine.

If that is in your price range, I'd do it... one more thing. What color?

Black.

Hopefully we can agree on the Bill Of Sale, but there is a local dealer that has an Ice Blue one I'm going to try to see tomorrow.

Will keep you informed.

Thanks.

I'd go with the BSP. The AP is a difficult color to work with.

Pretty much anything works with the BSP. You'd be limited to darker blues with the AP.
