What is the currently preferred remote start unit for the Gen-I xB? Our 05 xB has only keyless entry. No alarm (which we don't need). Winter in WNY begs for remote start.

Pretty much anything can be installed by an alarm guy. I don't think you need anything special if you want one without an alarm.
As long as it starts the car, that's pretty much all you need.

I purchased a Viper 160XV remote start unit. (eBay Refurb). This requires wiring into many of the xB's systems, including rear defogger and heater relay, as well as dome light and horn, in addition to the start circuits.
I downloaded the 160's installation manual, so I have the schematics from the Viper side, but I need a full set of schematics for the 2005 xB.
Where's the best source to find which color wire's which, and how they're routed? Thanks in advance.

I installed a Viper 160XV remote start unit in my 05 xB yesterday, and it works well. However, the heater (and instrument cluster) does not come on (when remote started) until the key is turned to "on". The radio does come on. The orange "accessory" wire of the Viper relay box is connected to the blue/red "accessory" wire of the xB.
Is there another "Heater" wire that needs to be connected? Will that require a separate relay?
Thanks.

The Pink/White Viper wire is not energizing. Defective refurbished unit. Reversed pink/white with the orange to get heater running under remote start. Will see whether the internet dealer or DEI will honor the warranty.
