How to remove the factory stereo?

hello,

wondering how to get my stock 04 xa unit out. i picked up a newer 06 tc unit and wanted to do it myself. i would like to do the project myself. any suggestions on how to take the dash pieces out?

also is there a way to get an aux plug into the unit. i would like to just plug the ipod in and have it use the stereo control knobs. my car does not have the interior center console aux plug. i guess the previous owner did not opt for it.

Does the tC stereo you are installing have the iPOD aux input in the back of it?

Did the guy end up selling you the aux/iPod in put pieces as well? If so, it's fully plug and play.

As far as the dash pieces, the xB dash, you just give a tug on the AC vent part and it'll come loose. We also have to remove 2 screws from behind the HVAC knobs.

Otherwise, it just pops out. Check behind the AC controls for screws... undo them and give the console a tug. Should do it.
