The peanut butter solution

A tip I picked up at the demo at Complete Garage last weekend;
If you've got a carbon fiber hood/hatch (or whatever) and you're having problems with oxidation and haziness that you can't get rid of with conventional products, you can slap some peanut butter on and leave it over night to restore your part. I was told that the resin used for C/F parts dries out over time and the oils in the PB will be sucked into the resin and restore it's original gloss.

I wanna try it out as my hood doesn't look like it did two years ago, but I just don't know what the best way to apply the PB would be (butter knife?) and I'm sure that the clean up would be a nightmare.

Anybody heard of this before?

Sure sounds interesting. Cleaning that up wouldn't be fun.

Nope. Fun would be the looks I would get at the carwash.

That is a valid point.

You should probably avoid chunky.

Personally, I would just stick my hand in and slather the PB all over that mug, just rinse your hand off afterwards.

Send a note to the Griot's guys that were here. I think the one was using an id of canada00 or something similar. You should be able to find it in the forums. He said he would help any way he could and this sounds like one of those times.

Just use a plastic puddy blade. The little yellow ones you get at paint stores.
