Aftermarket radio to use factory ipod hook-up
I was wondering if there is anyway I can hook up the factory ipod connector to an aftermarket radio if the radio is ipod ready?

Don't think so. Most aftermarket iPOD-ready head units will have an available iPOD cable, for a small, phenominal fee.
![]() I put a Pioneer head unit in my tC, and want to use my iPOD; I have to purchase Pioneer's cable. Moreso, there are solutions available to allow you to retain your steering wheel controls with an aftermarket head unit. Wire splicing and soldering is required, though. Greg

There have been some people who have done some modification to use the factory connector, but in the end, it's generally not worth the time and effort to do so.
I have my Alpine iPod cable chilling in the glovebox. I think it's cleaner there.
